Infographic: Judicial Confirmation

Design Challenge: One of the policy geniuses from People for the American Way brought me six pages of text about the judicial confirmation process and wants to “make it cool and interesting” Well sure, judicial confirmation workflows are inherently cool and sexy!

Solution: I worked with the researcher and stripped down the text to the barest essentials (still a ton of words). Then I found and cleaned up a vector map of our nation’s capitol. From there, I was able to work a “route” for the confirmation and animated the progress of a nomination with carefully tweened motion, mixed in with content pop-ups. This piece ultimately became one of the most popular features on SaveTheCourt.org. Go figure.
